Apple & Buckwheat Crumble (gluten & sugar free)

A super simple, delicious gluten and sugar free crumble.

My apple trees are producing more apples than I can eat at the moment, so I thought there is no better way to use some up than in a healthy crumble. I love working with the seasons and always try to eat as seasonal as possible. There is nothing better and more nutritious than fresh seasonal produce.


(Serves 6)

  • 8 apples, peeled, cored and chopped into chunks
  • 1/2 T cinnamon 
  • 1 cup sprouted buckwheat
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 10 medjool dates
  • 2 T ground flaxseeds

In a blender blend the apples and cinnamon until smooth (can leave a bit chunky if you like) and pour into an oven dish. Place the rest of the ingredients in a food processor and blend until a crumble mixture is formed and top on the apple mixture. Put in the oven at 180c for 10-15 mins. Serve as is or with some frozen banana ice cream and enjoy!
