Superfood Berry Bowl

This superfood berry bowl is my favourite breakfast at the moment, I am totally obsessed! I’m the biggest granola fan, so finding another way of eating it other than with almond milk is awesome! It’s a great way to start your day – so filling, satisfying and energising, not to mention totally delicious! Its so wonderfully easy too, you simply throw everything together in the blender and a minute later you have a super healthy breakfast!

Of course it contains lots of goodness already with the fresh fruit and super nutritous kale, however, I like to make mine a super-breakfast by adding some chia seeds, flax seeds and hemp seeds. These ingredients give you an awesome amount of protein, omega-3 fatty acids and B vitamins, all of which are so important for the healthy functioning of your body. They’ll keep you full too, meaning you won’t be tempted to snack – chia seeds, for example, absorb fluids to swell to 10-15 times their size, creating a gel-like substance that will keep you full for hours. Yes, I said hours!


  • 1/2 c frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 c frozen raspberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 c Kale
  • 1/2 c coconut water (can substitute for any type of nut or seed milk or even water)
  • 1 T chia seeds
  • 1 T hemp seeds
  • 1 T flax seeds


  1. Blend up all ingredients until smooth, the consistency should be quite thick. It’s more fun to eat if it’s thick enough to scoop with a spoon, rather than being a drinkable liquid consistency, so don’t over-blend. If it does melt more in the blender than you like, add a half cup of crushed ice and blend briefly again.
  2. Pour into a bowl and top with your favourite granola, fruit or superfoods.
