This superfood smoothie can keep me going for hours, it has so much nutritional goodness packed into it, that if i have a glass of it at around 10am I won’t need to eat again until about 3 or even 4pm.
It has a simple base of almond milk, banana and dates and then I add all the superfoods I can get my hands on.
The almonds and cinnamon help regulate your blood sugar levels, setting you up wonderfully for a day of balanced energy. The chia and ground flax seeds are a great source of healthy omega-3 fats and fibre, aiding your detoxification system, whilst also keeping you full for hours. Goji berries are a good source of B vitamins and antioxidants, protectecting you against harmful free radicals. Maca is rich in vitamin B12 (very helpful for vegans), and is also great for increasing your energy levels. Whilst hemp is a great source of complete proteins, dietary fibre, and essential fatty acids. The proteins found in hemp are similar to proteins found in our bodies. This is important because hemp provides the correct amino acids in the right quantities to help our bodies make the proteins it needs. It is a pretty awesome addition to our diets.
After drinking all this you really will be prepared for anything!
- 1 c raw almond milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 2 dates
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 fresh vanilla pod
- 1 T hemp protein powder
- 1 handful goji berries
- 1 T chia seeds
- 1 T ground flax seeds
- 1 T maca powder
- Blend everything together in a high speed blender
- Pour into a glass, sip, love and feel yourself being totally nourished!
